Pioneer Valley Primitives Rug Hooking Guild
Amherst, Massachusetts
Join us for an evening of informal rug hooking, normally on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Come to get inspired, and to enjoy the company of others who share our passion for hooking. We meet from 7:00 to 9:30. No charge.

Jones Library, Amherst, Massachusetts

Meetings Planned for 2009-2010
Unless otherwise noted, all meetings take place at the Jones Library in Amherst Massachusetts.  Meetings begin at 10:00am and normally are held in the library’s Large Meeting Room on the lower level of the building.

 

January 23, 2010
Embellished totebag project.   We’ll start a project that teaches a variety of hooking techniques.  This project will create a unique design that can be used to embellish a canvas totebag.

 

February 27, 2010
Embellished totebag project continues.  In addition, members will discuss a variety of approaches to making a hooked handbag.

 

March 20, 2010
ATHA Region 1 hook-in.  Join ATHA members from throughout New England at this all-day event in Westford, Mass.

 

April 24, 2010
My First Rug.  Members are invited to bring their first hooking projects and share it with the group.

 

May 22-23, 2010
Two-day workshop.  Cherylyn Brubaker will teach a two-day workshop on making effective use of textures and on background techniques.  Requires advance registration.

 

June 26, 2010
End-of-season picnic.  We’ll celebrate the end of the hooking year with a meeting and picnic at Diana O’Brien’s in Shelburne Falls.
